Actually, there is proof of the Big Bang Theory. Observable proof. Due to the Doppler Effect, we can see see if objects are coming towards us or moving away from us. Much like an emergency vehicle with a siren changes in pitch in relation to the observer. If an object is moving towards you, it's blue-shifted. If an object is moving away from you, it's red shifted. Every cosmological object is red-shifted with the exception of one, the Andromeda Galaxy. This proves that not only is the universe continuously expanding, at at a rate faster than Hubble's Law, but all of these objects came from a single source.

If you're curious about why the Andromeda galaxy is blue-shifted it is because our Milky Way galaxy is due to collide with it in due time. That time being a very long time from now when we are now longer here.

Zack, I was planning on starting a group in Central Florida to defend and promote science, science literacy, and science education from pre-K thru 12, when I heard your story on NPR's Science Friday. Excellent work! Florida has, and will attempt to pass pro-creationist & anti science laws that will affect not just the school system, but everything beyond it. I have a strong love for the sciences, but my focus now is in what my daughters will have to deal with, and without intervention, they would become science illiterate at the very least. I am not against any religion, or religion being taught in private or public schools as a religious studies analysis, but this (for lack of a better word) attack on science by some who wish their beliefs should be imposed on others, and to ignore evidence, logic, reasoning, and creative investigation into how reality works, will not only hamper the personal and scholastic growth of students, but also hamper our economy and competitiveness as a nation.

If there is any small way that I can be of assistance, please feel free to contact me via e-mail. Great work bringing this to a national level, and don't forget to finish your own education while defending others.
